So, the restaurant has been a huge success so far. I mean, you can never tell after one weekend. There have been hundreds of places – no, wait, well, probably thousands – that have had packed opening weekends and then had their customer base dwindle away to nothing after the buzz died down, and lost everything before they ever had a chance to turn a profit. So I'm trying not to get too excited. Trying, but generally failing, because I am super super excited. I am the co-owner of an awesome, awesome restaurant. And I am starting to think, seriously think, that I may soon be the co-owner of a very successful restaurant, which will be almost as cool. And I get to work every day with a very, very good guy. Because with the sheer amount of hours you have to put into opening a new restaurant, if you don't like the guy that you're working with, you are going to very quickly become a crazy person.
And I would rather not be a crazy person.
We put together an awesome menu, we put together an awesome staff, we have a really fun draw, and I can't wait to get to work every morning, which is great, because I probably won't have a day off for a year and a half.
In other words, aside from one little hiccup we had last week, I'm really having a blast.
